Richard Luhm - President/Chairman

A life long Memphian, Richard has been in the refrigeration business since the age of about five. Richard spent summers with his dad working in his residential air conditioning business.

After graduation from high school and attending Memphis State University in the early 70’s, he became intrigued with the “low temp” side of the business. In 1978 Richard joined the staff of Maynard Food Store Equipment in Memphis.

In 1984 Richard was part of a group that purchased the Memphis Branch of Maynard Food Store Equipment and became President and General Manager of a new firm, Systems-Plus Refrigeration, Inc. In 1990 the company was pared down to a service company only. The business was sold and a low temp division was begun for a local mechanical contractor. As head of this division of a national company, Richard used this time period to hone his business skills and further develop relationships with customers.

In May of 2001 Richard formed Memphis Mechanical Services. The company flourished early on and within three months the firm was incorporated. Memphis Mechanical now operates with many service technicians that possess multiple abilities.

Richard is married to another life long Memphian, Carol, and has two daughters.
